Bumble is having fun with you. It seems to have escaped your attention but that is what he does here. Bumble likes to make a buzz. Maybe it's amusing. Maybe it's annoying. Either way, you don't have to rise to it. Don't take a web board so seriously. This isn't real life.

Call me a stinking capitalist but I don't think anyone has the right to a job, just because they have it already, no matter how it is paid for. The worry that sports nutritionists or coaches will have to do a real job is motivation enough for me to axe the whole thing

That is just a dead set tossa's comment.....  What gives you  the right to have your job.....  You work at educating yourself, find employment in your choosen field yet you do not deserve to have the job because some punter does not think it is a worthy job.  And because you do not think they are worthy jobs, you believe that sailing should be dropped from the Olympics on those grounds.  Have a listen to your self.  Do you realise how stupid you are comming accross.

My point is really just to sit on the fence and wind you up. I do however side with myself and Stefans last post, the development argument for keeping the Olympics is weak, very weak. When I said 'like its always been' I am identifying non profit, non Olympic campaigners have been driving the development of sailing as a sport for as long as it has been as we know it. The Tornado may be a better boat for it, but boats in general have improved/developed in spite of the Olympics, not because of it.

I love the look of the Volvo format, but the Olympics cannot accomodate that level of sponsor satifaction and as mentioned before detracts from truely great events such as by parading as the summit of sporting achievement - which it is cos you say it is.... right?

Yes development will occur out side of the Olympics........  But with the Olympics it will happen a LOT QUICKER.  Just because you do not see it yourself does not mean it does not happen.  It is as I mentioned before, government funded development as apposed to out of the sailors pockets.....  Tell me that is not a good thing and is not a worthy point......  Or you can be a tossa and ignore it.

Yes classes have developed in spite of the Olympics, however the Olympics has also helped them developed also.

As far as the Volvo Series.......  I believe the Olympics can accomodate that level of MEDIA satifaction buy partly or fully adopting the same format as the Volvo Champion Series and some Olympians have been talking about this.  That is guys that have been there and know what they are talking about.

And finaly, if your point is to wind me up......  Then you need serious HELP.

What is 'Trolling'? Is it sitting under a bridge well known to be frequented by trolls? - or something much more sinister? Never mind, Ive gotta go to Japan on business for a few days so you won't have to put up with me for a bit.

It is good those sailors who used to dehydrate themselves managed to get 'professional' help and save a few brain cells to share for the greater good.
