Yup, you are the only one who is actually worried - the rest just like a good wind up.

Bruce:
If you'r so worried, why don't you measure your rake and weigh your boat?

Am I the only one who's still worried about Laser mast rake and weight?

Seems like the measuring of both at the 2014 worlds would indicate that some officials are concerned about it too.

I don't know if I'm farting in the wind, or that I've been sailing a dud and I'm actually far better than I thought, or worse, that my boat is fast, and that the races I've won is more about slightly better boat speed. I always seem a little off the pace downwind. I always thought my technique needed improving.

This has got me worried.

I wouldn't have said bravely, I don't think it was brave, it might be with the next one as I'm self building it in wood and it could fall apart, the other one didn't break up, it's main failing came down to build weight, it was just too damn heavy to be bothered with, in the end if I'm honest. Stupid maybe, arrogant probably, but nothing ventured...

I do at least know the concept works, so this next one (even though the breadknife remarked negatively when she came across the sketch pad after daughter No 4 nicked it whilst i was out last night and started up with the Christmas Card sketches.) should be the success I'm looking for (given the goal posts have also shifted and I need it to cope down the lake).

I like the idea of your precious and top secret boat plans being mailed out as Christmas cards...there will be hoardes of teenage girls entombed in garages messing with their Gaboon whilst glued to their I phones.
