to be honest GRF looking at the size of the 'V Twin' you don't either. There's so much buoyancy in her, if you capsize, I reckon it's going to turtle instantly.

Good luck all the same.

Not sure yet, it can only be early doors, we've both got stuff on later and I've no desire to go and park in the M25 for the 2nd time this week..

It depends on the forecast and wether some glitches have been sorted, the snowboard ratchets were not long enough for example, the spinnaker was blue not black, do i want to use it, the jib pole still wasn't sorted last we spoke, so don't hold your breath..

Not sure on that one, although you may be right.....

I actually hope GRF, has seen something that all us boatbuilders, and the designers have missed!! It is an interesting concept..... Just does not look right to my eye, as most engineers know, if it does not look right......

But be fair, would you rather sail a pretty boat or a fast one?? I know which side of the line I favour!!! GRF want's the fast boat!!... Maybe he has got it?

Jon

Steady on, I've been working with volumes and rockers and hull weights and displacement since before Bethwaite jnr could swim. I think y'all tend to forget the jolly old historical pedigree..

Here's a few things y'all might not know.

1976 - Built the first boat ever to be built from Kevlar, revolutionary hull design finished 2nd overall in the race series of that year due to engine failure.
1979 - Introduced 1st retracting centreboard to windsurf hull
1980 -Designed 1st mast track for displacement windsurf board
1981- Designed and built Div 2 Hollow construction race board at Parkers Used Gybing Centreboard later that year
That's just a snippet from the early days...

I calculated very carefully the volume and dimensions I needed to do what I need to do, and to support the rig weight that I thought it might end up needing, it's actually quite a low volume for it's footprint and it's heavier than I'd intended, that due to expense, at this stage it didn't make too much sense throwing money at very hi tech lay up for something that might just end up as a male plug for a mould or be a back to the drawing board catastrophe.

Don't forget I also had the benefit of assistance of Dan Holman his computer programme also worked out lots of the calculations and he was able to reduce my notebook maths to something more scientific, so it's not actually as flippant as my banter might suggest at times.

I respond thus because you're one of the guys on here that I do actually care what you might think.

Sorry if my post was taken a bit harshly, I did put a big winking emoticon at the end of it. And of course I'm only looking at pictures anyway. I'm sure you have your calculations all squared away. I Just thought I'd throw in a banter style dig in response to your post.

Now that's the love in over...

Make sure you don't get trapped under it when it's turtled, you've got no air pocket.

best of luck GRF, hope it works out and gives you either a eureka moment or at least enough encouragement to finalise it. Stuff everyone else, you've had the balls to do it and now you are right on the verge of doing it. Don't suppose it will carry the weight of a lardarse like me and still perform?
Everything I say is my opinion, honest

Page 99 if it doesn't take you right there. Funny, they are talking about 1973 and 1975...
