Who was out this weekend?.....

Heh .. Nah .. The Tera is based on our super High-Performance, Weed-Collecting rudder!!!

One thing I learnt ... Dont rake the centerboard forward when you are sailing on a weedy lake - It all just gathers at the top of the board and is a pain to clear!

Had a nice few moments when the breeze came up just enough to get on the wire, and almost planing! Not bad when according to HannahJ I sail too high with the Kite up, and when my crew had only used a symetric once before ( on a Laser2 - In a drifter!!! )

Horrible wind on the Medway on Sunday.  Light and very patchy made racing a bit difficult but then we made a few problems of our owm.  Lady's Race in the morning but the lady rigged the kite all wrong and then insisted we return to the shore to fix it after the start.  Consequently we got thrashed by a Buzz over the water.

The afternoon looked better with a truly massive course but this turned out to be all reaching and thus rather processional and anyway not enough wind to make a 4000 fly so we got thrashed by lightwieghts in a RS500 and a V3000, we also got beaten on the water by an Osprey and a 600 - so we didn't feel good.  The only time we seemed to be going well we hit a load of weed which lost us 50m.  Still at least it didn't rain and we didn't capsise.

sailed to portsmouth harbour in the rain friday night, one long broad reach, very quick. got towed in by parents and then yesterday we decided chichester was a ong way to sail back from and just went straight back to hill head from portsmouth, also in the rain, but this time a dead beat. it was good watching the mass of boats going past on RTI though, did you have fun? Then in the evening I did the evening race and went to the wrong windward mark but they all looked the same. i couldn't tell it wasn't royal southern until i got close enough to read B&G on it. and at that point the only other laser was following me so i thought i might as well goround this one but then he tacked off and went to royal southern so i got DNF. meh it was a fun course.

yes that was fun, just as fun as beating you in the racing in the morning in the 300

I can beat that  We were 3rd in our class, 60th in group and 104th overall.

Not bad for 4 Contender sailors and 2 non racing yachtie types.

The 2 sail reach from Bembridge towards Ryde was fantastic - I got to helm that bit.
