Kind of like that - same end effect, but I was picturing the whole thing built as one monocoque structure, rather than the vang added on. |

That boom is from 'Jack Sparrows' Banshee design Cherub.

A boom/kicker arrangment like puts a load through the gooseneck to resist the forward end of the boom being rotated upwards. If you have a boomerang that pivots near the gooseneck, you don't have this problem (but I'm not sure you save much space either). |

Just a suggestion, keep it simple, keep the price down, dont reinvent the wheel? Ensure that it is accessible and not unnecessarily complicated. To ensure a wide variation in crew weights allow open choice on fit out, spars and sails. |
