hmm, Windguru WRF 9km for King George currently showing 12-13knts, gusting 15-16knts most of the day, except the 1200hrs, which shows gusting to 34knts. Which brings out the pink colour. South westerly which means those gusts will be coming nicely off the tower blocks and gas monitors.

Well, that was rather more boat-flattening than expected. Pre-start sequence, on a bit of a fetch, sails pretty much flogging, planing, hiked out! At times, whitecaps were starting about ten yards from the windward wall.

gave the enterprise a thrashing today.  good 15-20 knots consistent with gusts a lot above. Crew who had never been in it before didnt know if she was petrified or buzzing.

when an ex moth w/c comes off the water anouncing he hasn't made a laser go faster in a long time, you know it was a blow.

frikken brilliant sail!
