Wing wangs really only come into their own in displacement conditions, so plenty of time, approaching the gybe, centre the pole, then gybe, then wing wang the opposite tack if required on the new tack, chances are it won't be, if it's been needed one way it probably won't be needed the other. Or it's a dead run and you only use it on the one side. As to Fab100, it wouldn't even fit on Frensham Puddle, so no point me coming up there and tanning your slowmo 100 hide, but you can rest assured you wouldn't be on the same leg of any given course we might find ourselves racing together on..

does the pole rotate on a pin on the carbon collar or does the whole circular plate rotate with the collar? to me it looks like some structural failure waiting to happen as the loads through that point will be very high.

Currently blowing 20kts inside Chichester harbour so looks like I won't be doing the evening race (especially with the nationals less than a week away).

I'm sure Team GRF could launch into the lagoon at calshot, that's normally where the nervous windsurfing types go for a first wobble... |

Wind at Bramble Bank and at Lymington platform is between 25 and 30 knots and low water 3 ish, so Lagoon may be a bit shallow, but winds from the SW so it will have some shelter and nice and flat . I hope it goes well for him.
