There's a report on another website which seems to suggest that the word on the beach is that:-
(Both) 29ers are too underpowered
14 is too overpowered
(Both) Cherubs are too trick
800 is too boring

a bit of breeze would probably make a lot of changes, but it doesn't look as if they will get it... They probably ought to do another trial, which has happened before. Weymouth anyone?

If every Olympic class were judged on such harsh criteria, you wouldn't be left with much! I think this is an incredibly strong line-up of boats for a trial that was put on at pretty short notice.

Hi I am currently out in Hyeres and have seen the test event. Generally option seems to be the 29er is very underpowered, 29er XX quite twitchy, RS800 easiest to sail, GT 60 faster then the Cherub (which is similar), I14 too much to handle.

However the point of this first test was simple to answer two questions:

1. Is there existing equipment which could be used as a women's skiff class

2. Do the women want a skiff class

I believe the answer is yes and yes!

Then Depower the 14! Its not exactly hard. Just rake back the rig a bit and add more caps. Piece of cheese. I meen its especially got cut downs on it!
