Yes I am sure we could blow the lab up if we tried but we have safety systems like sensors and the equipment will shut down if it is not happy. The main thing is to have good ventilation of roof spaces as it will end up there, and not have any incandesacnt surfaces, we also try limit the amount that is around.

When the 'Hindenburg' burnt, below the airship air was quite cool, people were able to walk out from underneath, this was a cloth storage system that had a catastrophic failure 'if' it had been any type of liquid fire no one would have walked away and a good many on the ground would have died too.

I'm sure that's a great comfort to those that perished or suffered serious burns! 

In any case, you can't compare it to a liquid fuel, the hydrogen was there for buoyancy only.
Think the engines were diesel powered.

What is more significant is how the fire got started, still something of a mystery I understand. But as we know, a small spark or heat source is all it takes.

What worries me is the invisible flames with no radiant heat!
Doesn't show up on infra red detectors, only know there's a fire when you actually touch the flame.

Will be brilliant if it will scale up, they have about 10 years to match petrol/diesel, then another 10 years to take over, hopefully other scientists are at a similar stage in other countries will increase competition to get to market.
