Don't these already exist.  NS14, N12, Tasar, 59er maybe even a B14 ?

The traditional Skiff classes through the ages are all in one corner, all well clear of all the contemporary dinghies on both measures.

That computer is waiting for repairs, but from memory all the boats that I'd call "small S skiffs" - 49ers, MPSs, 700s - fit into the same sort of region as the Skiffs, and there's no examples of boats that no-one would call skiffs (Canoes, FDs etc) falling into the skiff corner.

I'm interested partly because I wonder when a new high performance DINGHY will arise - something without a skiff's high RM and big sail for length, but still fast. It would be most interesting to see the graph ...

Just going back to the twin-wire RS500:
Yes that is us, yes that is St Mawes Cornwall - well done Jack Sparrow!

We have had the new boat for 2 weeks and found it nothing other than perfect (First twin string). Not underpowered at all for us lightweights. And when we want to race in class, we just take off one trapeze and swap the two 8ft tiller extensions for one 3ft one - and we are legal!

I sailed the GT60 Cherub on its maiden sail last week, on a pond just outside Ipswich. I'll be writing about it in the next edition of Roll Tacks in the magazine. Meanwhile here are some photos:

and a couple of videos I took during the day:

Given that the trials are this week IIRC, has anyone seen or heard anything about how things are going??

Direct link to the Cherub news page here.
http://www.sailingsource.com/cherub/test/doku.php/news?purge =true

29er news is off their home page
http://www.29er.org/

Some posts in the 14 forum too.
http://www.international14.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=2

Nothing on the RS pages that I could see, nor from the gt60 guys.

All are somewhat slanted of course, the puff on at least one I find distinctly irritating...
