On most GoPro's, you are recording in at least 720p...

Gopro site says class 10 minimum but that is HD.

This is the only footage I've got, to me it looks a bit jumpy but I'm not sure if that's a side-effect of the wake, some settings during editing (only just starting out the Premiere Elements) or the recording.

They're not proper HD. It's upscaled to HD size, same with DSLRs.

I thought DSLRs downscaled as all of the ones recording video will have sensors with more than 1080 vertical lines.

Yes sorry that's what I meant! Embarrassed They chuck away a lot of data. It's all very complicated really, HD is a very wooly term!

To be fair I don't think you were completely wrong.  If I remember rightly some of the early DSLRs shot 720 (so chucking away even more data) and then upscaled to 1080i (don't quote me on it though).  

I just ordered one of those Sandisk cards posted above too, rude not to at that price.  If they weren't coming from Sandisk themselves I'd have been wary because there are so many fakes on Amazon and evilBay.

Yes Sandisk are very good, a lifetime warranty too. I usually use Kingston, great quality but without the massive price tag, never had one go wrong. But then again I am using CF cards.

Yeah that price is such a steal I keep thinking I should have ordered a second card, or order another now.  Glad someone else thought it was a bargain too!
