They're the real deal if you're into Whistler and big mountain freeride bikes, but that comes with a U.S. build price tag.

I'll stick with my Enduro for the moment then.... Does what I need and more. Full SRAM X-0 and it cost the same as a covert frame! Has been pimped slightly since I got it though...

Why single speed? Or does this not mean no gears at all?

[QUOTE=chrisg]
Unfortunately not at all true. The Transition stuff he sells is pretty cool actually and has had some very decent write ups in the MTB mags.
http://www.transitionbikes.com/Home.cfm Shameless plug, and the cost for sticking up for you Graham will be a 4-5" travel full susser (Bandit?) in the smallest size possible (not for me, ive got a big full susser but we have a few trips to some BIG hills planned this year and my wifes Scott scale prob wont cut it) please on long term loan..... oh come on chris, play the game. let me troll the troll! but on a more serious point (as you well know) this type of full sus mountain bikes are just expensive toys unless you are using them for racing. not that i have anything against expensive toys, as i am a man who owns three bikes and two boats!!!! ![]() |

James, on-one have always had excellent customer service for us and always reply to emails, you shouldnt have any worries there. They were replying to emails at about 8pm on Christmas Eve about an order that I c0cked up if I remember correctly! Have you got a delivery date yet? Like you, I don't care whether my stuiff is cool, but it has to do the job for which it was purchased properly and with no problems. So what that their stuff is pretty much all made in the far east, they don't keep it a secret and (seem to) pass the savings on, which is ok in my book.
Duncan, my 150mm travel full susser isn't a toy, that would do it an injustice.... Admittedly if I rode it round here I would be somewhat "overbiked" hence why I have the On-One. I did try singlespeed for a while too for the winter bike (James i'd be interested to know what you think after you've had it a while) but changed back as it was bloomin hard work on the flat/uphill and i couldnt go fast enough on the downs. The Enduro does get used whenever possible when we go elsewhere to some proper hills, and I reckon I make it work for its living! I managed to snap its predecessor, a Stumpjumper FSR. I'm not a pro rider by any stretch but do enjoy going down the hills I've worked so hard to get up as quickly as possible, sometimes too quickly! |
