Ian, you need to consider that the IC in the video is built to the new rules, weighs 50kg all up and is probably quicker than the ACs. I think Dave's kit boat is awesome for a homebuilder.

I shouldn't be surprised if something could be arranged if someone wanted to build one in the UK. We do already have a CNC precut Canoe build setup in the UK for an entry level IC - see Damesblonde. Things like spars and foils could certainly be locally sourced to save shipping.

Another Canoe video - sorry (not much)!



This one is wood, minimum weight and is designed for the hull to be homebuildable with hand tools only, a cnc precut kit job.

He wasn't alone. Fortunately, most of the boats who found the shallows had lifting foils. I did smile when I looked back and saw a Vortex sailor standing in knee-deep water and uttering expletives towards his stricken steed!  Smile

I hope the Canoe survived unscathed?
