056-04.pdf is the file you need from the ISAF site - can't find it. I will look again tomorrow unless anyone else can find it.

That link dosn't work. Anyway I was wrong the document of interest is 037-03.pdf and I have a copy but not a link. PM me if you want me to email over the doc. It's the minutes from the events committee for 2008 Olympics In it it states; Mens Dinghy Events: i.e. Laser and 470 Unversally available equipment The above sounds like a Laser and 470(almost) to me. Open Dinghy Events; i.e.49er and Finn Innovative: design; technology; format of racing; courses regards, Rick

Yeha I do have to say that the finn isnt a bad class, just not neceseraly a very good choice for the open class. Why did they get changed over.?
