Hi Guys,

Name: Chris Cunningham

It was really good to meet you and the other expectant owners at the
show. It was the first time I had seen the boat at all and I thought it
looked stunning and very well sorted - better even than I had anticipated
from following the development blog.

If it goes half as well as it looks, it will be a fantastic boat. Can't wait to
get mine now, although I won't be sailing until April due to other
commitments.

Very keen to find out other owners in my area - I know you are out there
but not quite who yet ! I'm based in South Devon and will be sailing mine
mostly at Paignton Sailing Club (in Torbay) and at Teign Corinthian (on
the Teign estuary). But I will also travel for events.

I've opted for the big rig as I am looking for powerful and rewarding
performance in the typical marginal force 2 to 3 conditions that seem to
be the norm in the Uk and I'm around 14 stone. Having now seen the big
rig it does look pretty grunty so going to need to get fit fast !

My present boat is a Vortex Assymetric (which i will be keeping for
breezy days and for class racing - its a great boat in good wind and a
very friendly class). I also crew on a 49er (weekend warrior standard).
Never sailed a hiking boat before (crossed over from windsurfing straight
into trapeze boats) so slightly apprehensive about the pain that is yet to
come !

Anticipate attending the Nationals and looking forward to meeting up
with other RS100 newbies in my area. I think its going to be a great class
and am very pleased to be in from the outset.

SWMBO has stated that I have to leave my credit card at home when I go to the Show on Sunday, so I won't be joining the ranks of 100s any time soon. She's such a spoil sport!

Now it's no longer a prototype, and a magnificent production ready to
sail item, launched today at the LBS with ll due ceremony by the guys at
LDC, well done everyone and thanks for the champers..

So wondering around the show after, a couple of guys came up to me and
we exchanged names and greetings having bumped into each other at the
launch, so I suggested this as a meeting point to exchange sailing
venues, swap notes and quirks as and when they arrive until such time
everyone meets.

Then having done that I remembered we've got a facebook group, but
then facebook can be a bit lame, there again some folk feel forums are
lame, Whatever, here's a thread, feel free to introduce youselves as and
when you get one, find out bits of sailing intel etc etc.

I'm counting the days.

Think I'll stick to the small sail that big sail looked massively powerful on
the stand.
