Its summer time and rather than sailing in swimming trunks without hiking pads or with hiking 3/4 pants this year I was considering some sort of summer hikers.  The Zhik powerpads look good.  Does anyone know whether these can be worn on their own under swimming shorts?

Forgot to mention....I have a pair of Pryde hikers with adjustable pads.  I wear a pair of lycra cycling shorts over them to protect them and make them last longer.  I've had these for 2 seasons now and have found them faultless.

Foam alone will not be stiff nor strong enough to support your body weight.

I think that foam, whilst comfy, does not support you in the way the battens do.

The Zhik pads will fit under anything, they are just Yellow Pages held on with a bandage.

Musto hikers I had fell apart, Gill split at the crotch, I won't where anything with a chicken logo, MM were SO heavy and Power Pads came up small, in the end I ebayed them.... The solution I found was Pryde, excellent bit of kit; light, durable and adjustable; but if I were shopping again then I'd buy Sandiline from Rodney, good enough for Ben, good enough for me.....

Yes, think I might have a set of these and yes I did wear them under shorts, but they didn't stick down low enough for the exact look I was going for..

So not sure what size they are but open to offers, used only once or twice and never pee'd in/over, think they may be large on account of the massive girth and power of my loins...

I've used the zhik pads with just the foam part in for marginal conditions- where I'll only be briefly on the racks. Helps pad a bit, but really need the hard pad in for extneded hiking.

The joy is that they go under anything. And don't look like lederhosen or chaps (like the old-school strap on pads)
