Probably not that relevant to y'all here, but two or three times lately I've
been charged extra for kite equipment that weighs no more than 20 kgs,
then got sat next to some humongous woman who spilled into my seat
and probably had luggage weighing more than mine and most certainly
her weight was more than me and all my baggage.

There had been a couple of cases of big folk being given extra seats.

Anyway I got agitated by it and posted a petition on the No 10 sight

Here

If it's ever happened to you then pitch in.

If you sail a Phantom, I fully understand you probably not wanting to..

If you fly Virgin they take 1 piece of sporting equipment free (up to 35Kg max, 162 inches length) in addition to normal baggage allowance.

I took my sails to an event in the US rolled around plastic pipe with plastic corrugated roof material to protect it on the outside and it couldnt have been simpler.  Sails were waiting for me when I arrived in baggage reclaim.

I once had a very attractive young lady fall asleep on me on a plane, a complete stranger. The deeper she slept the more she snuggled, she even dribbled on my shoulder. I couldn't move for a couple of hours. Granted, she didn't weigh much but I was uncomfortable......I didn't mind at all

Good link Xpletive, enjoyed reading that. Not surprised at some of the readers comments though, it seems there is a bully in most of us just waiting for the next officially sanctioned victim.

How are you on the disabled?

Someone kindly explain to me how obesity is a mark of poverty?

Now Rickets, bare feet, I get, but obesity? I'm sure there are many folk
today that would have traded their lot in life for being obese - if they
could have afforded it.

Why there must be many a GP14er would love to move out of the shoebox
into the world of the Phantom.

Think Jamie Oliver's School Dinners in Rotherham, all the fat chavs that scoffed down cheap sausages and burgers because they reckoned they couldn't afford lean meat and fresh veg. They seemed be able to afford fags booze and mobiles but thats another can of worms. Obesity equallying poverty is a Western trend, globally it's obviously a different story.

I think our view of what exactly defines 'poverty' needs adjusting.

Itīs an impoverished mind that can agree with what you are saying GRUMPF.

Poverty isnīt just one-dimensional and to do do with pure consumption. It
īs also the inability to climb out of the hole one has been put in, either by
yourself or others. In other words also the inability to visualise and attempt
to change your own short - middle- and long-term perspectives.
Pass the skiff, man!
