Weston is planning a long distance Round the Solent Race for next year to be held inconjunction with its Long distance Cat race

man up and just race round the isle of wight

you dont need an official race. just line up with class 0 and off you go.

Yup, try the East Coast Piers Race Marconi S|C, the Forts Race Whitstable SC, the RTIOW, In August Each Year Red Wharf Bay Run a three Island Race. Further afield Carnac have a long distance race in August.

Cawsand Bay Sailing Club do from Cothele on the Tamar to Cawsand  c26 miles .The start is hilarious as the river is about 20 yards wide and there's never any wind ,one F18 did a le mans start this year ;not sure if they change the rules or not but no one seemed to care

By a brilliant piece of mutual planning - not- the Nore and Medway Marathon races clash this year on 20th June.

Two great, classic races, but the competitors in one will actually be able to see those in the other at some point...

Its just 24 hours to the South Kent Race at Wilsonian Sailing Club - not a very long race but from the Medway Towns to the mouth of the Medway and back, its not short anyway.  In June the same club hosts the Wilsonian Grand Prix which is a long race weather permitting.  And just a week before that many of the Wilsonian SC boats will be doing the Medway Marathon from MYC which is marathon length.  So it seems the Medway is a good area for long distance races.
