if you roll on to your back you will skim back up to the boat, I saw someone else do it and they almost got back in without capsizing. whilst belly dragging you can keep the boat upright by surfing left or right to balance the rig. just needs some practice on the transition from being dragged to getting back on board. |

when its really windy in the 300 hook both your feet into a toe strap and bear off. Get your bum out the back of the open transom and bum surf to the bottom mark.

'death roll recovery'
sailing downwind in a gusty windy f5-6 in a laser, stick it in the piss so the mast hits the water. Sheet the main on like a mother just as a gust hits and flip the boat back up right, carry on sailing. Only every done it twice, but once was leading an OM race right in front of the clubhouse, surprised myself so much I nearly stuck it in again... Edited by laser4000 |

It seemed to me that ought to be the way to get a Laser Vortex to go on a dead run in light airs, but you're right, it is very difficult! |

A Classic
You can see by the tenth shot that Tony and Char have positioned themselves well to lever the rotation to near vertical, however they lose marks as the kite is flapping, and they never quite achieve the straight-up position. |

The b14's petty good at doing a tailstand, though it tends to end on its side. Bonus marks for keeping the kite trimmed.

Mark bouncing. Fly a hull close to a mark, at the right time, crew unhocks and lands on top of said mark. Extra points for staying put - soft marks only! Crew flying. Sail two largish cats close together. Crew of leeward boat graps trap handle of windward boat. Crew of LW then hooks onto this trap too. Boats sail slightly apart (be V careful), crew of leeward boat fly's! Much care must be taken by both to ensure WW does not capsize onto LW, and LW does not roll into windward and hit WW. Water Skiing / Wake boarding Attach water Ski line to rear beam just before it is attached to hulls. Water Ski behind. Dagger board may be used if not other board available. Nose stands Sail along and drive the nose under. Skill factor points for how long rudders are out of the water / distance travelled / depth of bow under water. Whirlies 1, Sailing in strong wind, bows go under Note, steps 1 and 2 usually happen by accident Steps 3 -5 usually do not happen Tail stands Trapeze from back beam, Highest bow wins Leeward hull flying Both out on wire in no wind, very difficult!

Trapeze off the transom so it stands up on it's back end then falls over sideways, always cool.
