LDC Racing Sailboats could have a limited life in the boat making business. They have made the 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, and 800. So all that's left for them is the 100, and 900. Unless of course they start giving the boats random names like "Feva" or they make an RS627.

Ahhh Mk3 Cortina 2000GT.  Great memories.... bright yellow, black vinyl roof... huge sunroof (I could stand up and still drive)....  Probably why I sail an Osprey

I think new versions of some existing boats DO need to be churned out.  Please dont take any offence but to a newbie (without taking money limitations into account), why choose a buzz over the new, faster, lighter, easier to sail 500?  Why choose a 5000 over the newer, faster, lighter, easier to sail 800? 
Some boats have only seemed to carry on because you can pick them up and get flying for so little money (which of course is more than reasonably, its why i bought the 600).  But whats the point in developing construction techniques, rig responsiveness and other such things if they aren't going to be put to use in the overall sceme of sailing?
Most of the time whats happening is the new boats that are being brought out are simply attacking/replacing the already dying classes.  I Realise that doesnt ring true to all examples of the newer boats but certainly to some it seems to be the situation.
