theres already a twin tiller system for the 800 isn't there withe the purchase at the back, but i read somewhere that RS didn't want the main coming off the boom to stop people using it as a trainer for the 49er, but i could have imagined that.

Yes it has gone through, there are some people on the circuit currently using that mainsheet system and have been for a while now. And skiffcrew is quite right, the crew taking the mainsheet is prohibited. Unless in the exception where the helm falls out the boat.....hehehehehe!

Interesting to see that the actual 29er has been added, you would have thought that a 29xx would be enough

I think the 29er xx will get it because the crew weight is fairly light and the 29er is already an established boat around the world so boats could easily be converted.

I agree 29ers etc would really pail in comparison to a 14! TBH if i was a non sailor (god forbid) and i saw a 14 and a 29er going downwind i would automatically say wow look at that (14). Plus they are just cooler!

From what ive heard the SK4 was never intended to go in for the trials, it just happens to fit quite a lot of the criteria needed.
