"Improved jib tack bar fit - reduced snagging"  this puzzled me a bit because I dont think we have  jib tack bar to improve?

ah - could be.  I was wondering if they has fitted a jib track or pole, but I'm probably wrong on that

How does that price compare to when Laser manufactured it?

It's the black ally bar that the furler sits in.  That is actually a common part with the Vareo, but I thinkthe change will be in how it is mounted in the boat.
