Saturday was sunny with 12-15kts, which built to

home (which was pretty challenging with he No.2 rig
on).

Sunday was 15-20kts all day with some decent waves in
the bay to jump over. No.3 rig all the way and absolutely
sending it.

It just doesn't get better that that. You lot missed
an epic event.

Glad you enjoyed it. Sorry it wasn't Windward/Leeward as
they said it would be but you seemed to manage ok

It probably wasn't the best conditions for a novice crew
and with a busted Cunningham we headed in for an early
bath.

Having said that, the results have us winning the first
race. Me thinks somebody on the com boat can't count!

I actually really enjoyed the trapezoid course. It was big enough for a proper downwind kite leg, and the 2-sail reaches were great fun.

It might have been a different story if the winds had been light, but with the decent blow we had, I would say that it was better than a W/L course.

We had a great time too.

Did spot a couple of errors in our results that got corrected very quickly when we pointed them out.  But I notice today that race 2 started before race 1 finished and was therefore 2 hours rather than 1 which Im sure will affect the corrected times.  But I dont think it changes the overall results.  It wasnt helped by the fact that HAL race rseults crashed and awarded everybody in the OK fleet 5.5 points!

I rather like this one. Shows the "YABS" rig going (almost) upwind.

I was looking at it and wondering why we are both trapezing like whores and are so far back, and then I remembered that this was the tight reach into the bottom mark.

Plenty big enough thanks.

But seriously, I've not measured it so couldn't tell you. It's about a foot taller than the average No.2 rig because Yabs & Nick are both big lads, and the jib is just HEEOUGE!

This pic might give you a better idea of it.

Medway Regatta at the weekend and what a great couple of
days sailing.

Bit lighter and very shifty on the Saturday but the sun
was out and the tide was up, and we were still hiking so
we weren't complaining.

Then some great wind and water on the Sunday giving us
some epic sailing.

Great event, friendly and fun with some fantastic sailing
and it even had a good social on the Saturday night,
although we had to rescue the baby sitter so missed it.

What more could any one ask for.

That'll be Medway Dinghy Regatta at Wilsonian SC, as opposed to the upcoming event for leadmines at Medway YC

Saturday - went down the club, blowing a good F4 gusting
5, choice of a 700, Pico or Laser Rad. As there was no
safety cover I decided on the Laser. What a fantastic
time blasting about in the waves.

Sunday - F3 gusting 4 I took the 700 out, great sail, few
swims though so took it in. Over lunch I rigged up the
club Laser with its only sail (the Radial) so raced the
afternoon with 3 other Laser Rads. Great time, with basic
rigging no blocks at all, I still managed to battle my
way to second place overall.

1 more week at work then 3 weeks sailing...
