I got the Moth out yesterday, the repair seems to have held. I've made a couple of tweaks to the wand length and the rudder angle and it went like a bomb!

I've never been scared going upwind before but it just felt wrong to be going at that speed to windward. I managed one foiling gybe, on the rest of them it touched down on the way out of the gybe but stayed upright, a big improvement on my usual technique of going for the gybe and capsizing instantly!

I was buddying for a friend at the Challenger class open at Grafham Sailability.  The wind was great on Saturday, but very testing on Sunday.  The hospitality offered by Grafham Water Centre was superb.
the same, but different...

Spent another weekend remembering why I don't like sailing inland in uber flukey conditions.  I'd love to claim it's me weight but there is always some sod who weighs the same but can still carve out good results....(damn you Eddie!)
I might be sailing it, but it's still sh**e!

Got back on the water for the first time in quite a while, pleasant light
breeze, proved once more with no shadow of doubt the Alto pole system is
worth its weight in gold, manage to hold the 5 oh off complete with its new
set of sails on a really broad reach by soaking as low as they did.. They are
faster, but not fast enough to dive through the windshadow, starve the air
supply and they can be held.
Didn't do enough to hold some laser that just happened to go mackerel
fishing around the course though...

Keyhaven was clearly the place to be this weekend - sea breeze got up to 20 knots today!

The Medway was good on Saturday. We sailed a Dragon and
came 5th out of about a dozen. The wind was consistent
from the W and we were fully powered up.

Sunday we were back to the 4000 and very fickle conditions.
Nice to leave the 29ers and the 59er but it was good for
the 400s so again we never made it to the front. I notice
the Timmings had ditched the 800 and gone back to a 5000 -
I wonder if there are any other teams in the country who
prefer the 5000 over the 800?

I understand that's a simple matter of crew weight, Redback. The 5k is much more fatty-friendly.

I had a good weekend at Lee, a bit of a drift on saturday, especially at the start, the wind came up a bit for the second race and died again for the third. Then Sunday we were greeted by a similar windless sight, I said it should fill in a bit for 1 or 2 to a decent level, obsessively watching bramblemet when I should of been revising gave me a fair idea of what to expect. The first race was a bit of a drift again, just about on the wire trapezing off the foredeck, the second race wasn't much better untill the 2nd beat at 1.03 the wind filled in to full trapezing wind (insert big smug face here), happy days. And it kept building for the final race.

I came 3rd out of 10 boats overall but was 5th overnight so have to write the report, funsies.

600 732, will call it Sticks and Stones when i get round to it.

Spent Sunday afternoon being battered at Chichester... knackered sails meant we didn't point, exams meant severe amount of pressups needed... but hey, new set of sails coming very soon!
