+1 JC! I seem to have trouble every time I am heading in the direction of chez Fuller. 59 through the variable speed cameras on the M20 near Maidstone with a 50 limit imposed. I have tried to drive at the variable speed limits since then but reckon I should be done for dangerous driving for doing so (of course the worst tailgaters are the foreign trucks who have no reason to respect the limits), damned if you do and damned if you don't My guess is that less than 1% respect the variable limits.
Back to the D-Zero now, the next time I was in trouble en route to chez Fuller I was innocently heading, in a northerly direction, for Hythe and Saltwood SC for a D-Zero/D-One demo day, heading from Calais to Folkestone on Eurotunnel and we were asked where we were going. Obviously we should have said anything other than Hythe and Saltwood SC as the first question was 'do you know Mr Fuller', our next mistake must have been to confirm a vague acquaintance which led to our car being literally taken to pieces. Suffice to say we arrived late

I have to admit that I am presumably a danger to society. Two years ago done on average speed cameras on the Cat and Fiddle Pass 'The most dangerous road in Britain', because of motorbikes not doddering old fools like me in ancient Mazda's. This year TWICE! Once in wife's Fiat Panda in Stockport, 36 in 30 and again in said Mazda 36 in 30 at Stonehouses, Staffordshire. The Staffordshire one was on an A road which passes through the minimalist village, is it there at all? of Stonehouses. There are three cameras within half a mile making the village like a cash till.

I swear one of the reasons I justified leaving Draycote was to avoid the very real chances of losing my licence after Wednesday night sailing - that A45 through Coventry / Ryton is utterly ridiculous.
Fortunately the new house takes me on a different route home.... well that's one of the justifications for re-joining tomorrow anyway. The other is the nice forecast on Saturday.

Sorry Rodney, much less expensive to sail a Phantom, we have a few people in the right places.
Nick, Simon etc

I honestly doubt that Gordon The cost of staying competitive in a Fant will be, for sure, more than running a D-Zero. Cost of ownership is a factor in any class.

Rodney
you missed the point, speeding tickets can mount up if you try hard enough. I was not having any crack at the cost of the Zero or Aero. |

whilst it would be standard practice to offer some sort of scathing quip to hedge my envy, all I can say is I hope it comes off for you too. You deserve it and happy sailing!

Frankly, I am surprised you bought a house not a camper van, so you could join all the other permanent windypuffs down on Calshot...
