the 'jib' sail is sheeted in more than the 'main' sail. a bit nose down it makes lots of waves ----------------------------------------------------- why have 1 or 2 when you can have 1 and a half? |

Talking of foils, has anyone got any pictures of Blue Arrow around anywhere. An interesting boat that used foils to create + and - lift to keep the boat totally flat - mono-hull with 2 out riggers with T-foils at the ends. |

But isn't. Or at least isn't compared to other 470 rudder blades. Its a classic example of rules having the opposite effect to that intended - the 470 rules have various clauses to limit how much shape you can put in the rudder blade so that its cheaper and easier to build, but the actual result is that the blade is immensely complex to build. As a result the 470 rudder is both more expensive and yet less effective than a fully shaped blade on a class without the rules. |
