Deliberately.. Only way I could get the kite down.

Interesting that TT had a photograph of exactly the mess my kite block was
in, taken before the regatta commenced I might add..

Interesting I've never had a kite problem before, ever.

it's a bit of moot point, Neal Freeman summed it up in his prizegiving

Appreciate the longer races and that they are the overall points. But were they calculated on corrected time, i.e was a position recorded for everyone finishing, then amended using the PY's? Or were people just recorded as they came over the line and given that as their finishing position?

Sounds like us guys at Largs missed a good nationals and I can't make France either.

Some of your advice gained over the weekend please .... as one of the RS100 syncronised swimmers and as there are now so many expert non-swimmers what are the main tips for staying upright in 18/20kts plus. Got the righting and upwind sailing sussed (well when the foam arrives), but downwind hoisting and Gybing ..... oh dear!

Will do some events in 2011 and may go to the open event at Dalgetty Bay if others are.

Look forward to event detailled reports and experiences.

A windy event will always equalise things like differences
in sail size... especially as the kite is the same size.

Run the same event in a F1-2 and then see what happens!

James, How were the results calculated in the end? Are the ones shown on your website corrected time or just over the water positions?? Very interesting to see the smaller rig win. Great turnout, boat looks great. Well done everyone involved!

That's a damn good turn out for a first nationals.  I can't help thinking this could become one of the UK's biggest national attended classes in a few years.  The photo's really look great, and it is one of the most stunning looking boats around!

So gutted i couldnt stay out there with you on sunday, perhaps in future I will check all my knots especially the important ones like the ones holding the centreboard down! Sailing in with the board down was hard enough but when it was swinging free on its own all the way in it made it seriously hardwork!

Anyway it was an awesome ride down to the start and an awesome first beat and first half of a run while it lasted!

Wont be out in france with you but will try to make it to as many events as i can in the future, perhaps some of you will come down to plymouth for the devon destroyer this year, an event run by the uni with great socials and great racing in plymouth sound which is probably one of my favourite places to sail now.  Especially as its pretty much on my doorstep for most of the year!

Would be great to get perhaps 10 rs100s there because we could have our own fleet! If not then there is good quality handicap racing to be had with some good competition.

When I know the dates I will let you know!

Edit: 6th and 7th of november are the dates for the diary, info available on facebook and i think on the university sailing club website. Also on the friday which is bonfire night there is a huge display on plymouth hoe, normally not something to be missed, last year was amazing!  So if travelling a long way it could be worth considering the friday night too!

Who won races 1 2 3 5 6 and 7 ?

It looks like 1 2 3 5 6 and 7have beed scored as double points; 2 for a win like a medal race.  Somebody configured some software wrong?
