i had a really good sail in the 14 today. We still haven't managed to get it on the water in time for a start but it was good just mucking around again, doing a bit of laser dodging. It's so nice to have all of the solent to play in with that boat, I was really enjoying the great long kite reaches.

Spent the morning at BYLM getting my road base and seeing James and Dave's creation with a 405 hull etc then saw it "sail" pics to follow.
Then went ans sailed the 700 had more wind than yesterday, was good but cant wait to sail in constant wind!   Edited by radixon |

Arrived to a millpond, so we decided to run the new sails up the mast to admire them, and to rig the new boom (seeing as the old one recently folded due to kicker). Watched those wh were daft enough head out for a race, but the wind still wasn't enough to make us run down, change and drag the boat up to the water.

I had my first sail for 2 months at the weekend.
It seems the hours in the gym are paying off. Conditions went from drifting to flat out hiking upwind and marginal planing offwind. Just managed to keep most of theose pesky Phantoms under control, the bad news is that another one has just joined the club! It was a good day overall though, roll on next weekend! |

Well thats it mate you hit the nail on the head, although i have spent a year out of the class i still have had a lot more time in the boat. They are so rewarding to sail once you get over the intial wet period!!
