As we are due to move soon sailing is a bit on the back burner.  However, there is the question of a partially rubbed down dinghy in the garage which has to move when we do....fortunately I have just acquired (via the Cat's Protection jumble sale) a very useful hot air gun....
the same, but different...

We got four good (but light) races in a Torbay for the Radial Qualifier which was excellent considering the weather forecast Big smile.

i managed to get the 14 out with a kite on it on saturday afternoon. we had 8-10 knots of wind and we're only just twinning, mostly single wire, upwind. Downwind, i wet really high and got both of us on the wire. then i went back to sailing the right direction i would in a race and we were single wiring. It was myself helming, and a mate who was going to go to the qualifier but decided he couldn't be bothered because of the lack of wind crewing (i bet he'll be peeved off to hear they got some nice racing in). I can't wait to get this boat out on a nice F4-5 day with a typical solent chop running to see what it's like.

Sunday i sat around on the balcony watching before i had to go and do some college work  I didn't miss anything though. There was barely any wind and the lasers we're going backwards at some points.

600 732, will call it Sticks and Stones when i get round to it.
Also International 14, 1318

just been out tonight for a bit of a windsurfing session. got about 40 mins of proper planing at last. but then my UJ tendon snapped. that made getting back near the car in a cross-on breeze interesting. anyway I shall now have to get over to the boards forum to work out what is the best part to get.

At the OK Inlands at Northampton this weekend.

Despite me not racing much, due to my lack of skill in such high winds, had an awesome weekend.

I sailed with Stuberry at the Cherub inlands at Corus. Saturday was mad. We arrived to a good force 6-7. Little sails, little boat and a 150 ish kg on board = fast! Stu was shocked at how quickly FS takes off. We were surprised when the club showed absolutely no hesitation when they sent us out. They were trying to hurry us up! Most clubs would have canceled racing but not Corus. The club as earned legendary status.

To cut a long story short I smacked my tail bone really hard into the shroud base, that hurt! We also snapped my mast. The shroud ripped through the stainless steel shroud plae, which was a PITA. An end to the weekends sailing, or so we thought. We managed to get hold of another mast, strip the broken one and measure up and fit out the new mast on Sunday, rig and went for a drift.

If you can't carry it, don't sail it!

Nssa Team racing was excellent fun, no wind on saturday morning building up to 18-20 kts and the PRO calling a reef, sunday was fairly breezy but not quite as much as saturday, the wind also did a 180 shift as the pressure moved straight over the club.  It was good, very close racing and good time had by all.
