Hunts was frozen over again yesterday but the ripple from the light breeze seemed to have frozen with the surface, it looked really bizarre!

Work party weekend though so no worries about not sailing.

Very strange sight at Alton Water today - the unusually still air overnight combined with the low temperature had caused the reservoir to freeze over, however, later in the morning some of the marks started to jump around  (like fishing floats with a fish attached !).........it took a few minutes to work out what was going on. The ice slab was gradually being blown across the reservoir causing the marks to move about - it did look very odd indeed. By lunchtime two thirds of the water was clear but the ice was stacked up on the far bank of the reservoir,

Completely frozen or just around the edges? We will rely on your report as a little bird tells me you are collecting something and delivering it there today...

Chew, this afternoon...

How bizarre, as Bristol Corinthian, which is only about 3-4 miles away, and is a smaller expanse of water, didn't freeze at all.

I was surprised to see that Burghfield is still frozen (spotted from the M4 yesterday).

Chew was a bit icy this morning - pretty much everything left of starting box (as you looked out) was frozen. the ribs launched and made like 'hms ice breaker' to get out to the clear water. Then the drover up and down a lot at 1/3 throttle to generate max wake and that eventually broke the ice sheet up so racing started just after 11:30.Fun and games...

they did that at hunts a few weeks ago as well but it just delayed the start even longer because of the odd ice berg
