I vaguely remember the Pisces coming out way back when. Another failed Brit answer to the Laser, it would seem. Here are some pics of one currently for sale: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk:80/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item= 160297981228&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123 Did anybody here ever sail a Pisces? What was it like? Where did the builders go wrong in their quest to make a Laser-beater? |

It is possible that there is nothing at all wrong with the design, but that it couldn't compete with the Laser mass marketing machine.

He didnt say there was anything wrong with the boat design. It actually reads "Where did the builders go wrong."

The mainsheet layout was the same as the Laser, so I wouldn't bet on it!

If you read the design story for the Laser you'll find that a great emphasis was placed on achieving a waterline length that gave a good performance. Since every other 'Laser alternative' is shorter, and is slower, perhaops they got the design right.

Quite right, Lasers do get speed from waterline length but not much else so buy a Supernova. The succesfull Laser alternative.
