My typhoon dinghy boots have, after ten years of good service, developed a crack the size of the San Andreas fault so I feel a new purchase coming on (any excuse to shop for shoes

I found these best for trapezing, and in the winter i wear wetsuit socks underneath which kept my feet toastie, they have a super grippy sole and so far have lasted well with some heavy use. http://shop.pinbax.com/index.asp?selection=detailed&uid= 10649&itemtitle=Aqua%20Tech%20Shoes |

I had a pair of Gul titanium 2 boots but they were sh*t on the deck of my 600 so i bought the gill trapeze boots which i find really comfy and grippy, My brother also has them and puts wetsuit socks underneath when its cold and he says they are really warm - personally i find them warm enough without socks.

i hate to be a walking advert for rooster but i think their ankle high boots are outstanding. they look very similar to the ones merlinboy has posted up and are the same price i think. i also found them very warm and didnt need to wear wetsocks under them in the winter!!! they lasted just over a season though |

Tevas Protons or Neutrons are great on the RS non slip and on pro-grip, although I've started finding them hard to get hold of. I'm now using Palm Granite River Shoes which were recommended by a chandelry company in Cornwall that had run out of Tevas. I've been using them since Christmas and have to say that they are bloody good.
Granite River Shoe I found that I chewed my ankles up when I had the 49er so dug out my old Aigle Boras which were superb on the 49er, however they dont work on RS non-slip ! Edited by craiggo |

Must depend on the boat then, as I found these a nightmare in the 800, with very little grip (especially on areas without non-slip) and the tab on the back (to help pull them on I guess) has an irritating habit of catching ropes, and I've cut them off. I've found anything with a razor cut sole to be much better for grip generally. |

My crew loves the Aqua Techs. Like hum3 I prefer razor cut soles. I wear Sola 5mm zipped boots. Zipped because velcro gives up the ghost too quickly. I wear both drysuit and wetsuit wih them. They are easy to get on, good on shore as well as in the boat and the grip lasts and lasts. Briefly dabbled with the zhik alternative but the zhiks are now sitting in the shed as I have returned to my third pair of Solas.
