One of the 300s (Ben Wards old boat) was involved in a car crash on the way to the Mounts Bay nationals some years ago. The car that ran into the back of the boat pushed the rudder post forwards opening up a crack as mentioned, so perhaps this is the same boat and its just not possible to properly repair it. The boat also ended up with the rubber trailer stop going through the bow, so new bow was built. Amazingly Bens accident was the afternoon before the 1st day of the nationals and LDC had him patched up in time for the 1st race.

Well my helm, used to own that boat last year, he sold it to a boat trader (i'll leavehis name out), It had a crack just below the lower rudder pintle, the faster you went tohe more pressure on the rudder which opened it up further  Charlie was still very quick in it but it shipped a fair bit of water on board

*cough*

Cup?

Few pints more like! and I took the bung out just before you put it on the road base, and it was fully in before that.

the 300 for me has taught me loads since owning it. my boat handling has improved so much.

ive got the big rig for the 300 and weight 10 stone so im a gd few stone too light for it, however the sail can be depowered extremely well so i don't struggle very much
