I have mounted my mast support at one end of my trailer board so I can pass it through the rudder stock on the 59er - I think the 29er is the same.  Seems to work well, I have just had to add some extra padding at the bottom of the mast support because it would rub the transom/hull edge.

My P&B top cover has straps at the back for holding your lighting board on, very handy.

I have found the easiest way is to drill a hole in the bottom and top sides of the lighting board and then just putting it onto the bottom pintle and put an bolt in the top and it doesnt move an inch.

My friend has made some massive thing with flashing bike lights attached to two plumbing tubes coming of his lighting board for his national 12 it looks like something that fell of a UFO

If you buy a normal (wide) board you can buy a fitting from Rooster/LDC etc that fits on the pintles on the boat and has a mast cradle, which just self taps onto the lighting board. NB the trailer boards from motoring shops come in at least 2 widths, and you must get one wide enough!

You ought to get one of the wider ones that have reflective triangles on.

Neatest trick I did with a light board was to glue foam rubber about 4 inches thick on the back...

Caravan centres will often have boards with a 6m cable attached, as do Motorsave. I believe that it should have a fog light to be legal, but I've never found one with one...
