Back to the ISAF Worlds....
Not a great day for the GBR Tornados (but then again Bundy is in 20th!) but a good win (from start to finish) and an 8th for Perce and Bart seems a pretty solid start... |

Surely we want the best sailors competing for Britain regardless if they are funded by RYA or not? Therefore if Nick Craig (and I haven't a clue who he is) beat a number of team GB sponsored sailors at the European Championships (no mean achievement) surely he should have been invited to compete at the ISAF worlds to show whether or not it was a flash in the pan regardless of whose nose might have been put out of joint? If there were politics involved, there shouldn't have been.

I must admit I am not sure whether Nick qualified for the Worlds or not. The system to go to the Worlds is first past the post, so there is no politics there (although the RYA do reserve the right to send A & B funded sailors). The truth is it would be almost unthinkable that he would beat Ed in Cascais....

is is just me that thinks the worlds website it really really poor...
not only is it incedibly slow, it's a highly unreadable grey on black combination for text.. someone shoot the web designer please... Edited by laser4000 |

Agreed the website is awful, theres hardly anything to look at, reports are short and boring and everything seems to be updated ages after the event!

Looking at the classes where it is tight to call. So far Dobson looks good to be top Brit at the Worlds again, unless it is really windy for all the remaining races...

Can't find the list online but Finn Gold cup qualifying is based on a series of events. Each country has a number of entries based on how many class association subscriptions are paid. I think there is also a place for one rookie and the class secretary or something along those lines... Maybe he didn't qualify.
