Well put. So in most peoples opinion the boat they currently is the most boat they would want for their money.

beware cos value is in the eye of the beholder..... some will say the big cash they've doled out on i14's, F18's or Tornado's is the best they've ever spent, others will state the case for the £500 Mirror they bought out the back of Y&Y, personally I think one of the greatest days sailing I've ever had was in a wreck of a wayfarer, bought for about £600 from a sailing school, out on a sunny day in Poole Harbour; sun, good company, somewhere to put the cool box of beers and a nice F3...

(good thing it doesn't look that nice out the office window right now....)

Well I have to agree that the 5000 and the Boss provide a huge amount of boat for the money but there aren't many around, but a 2nd hand 4000 won't cost you much and there are plenty to race against and are a bit more accessible for your club racer.  Tough too and fun even in a F3.

I think most of the Hartley range can qualify for the title to be honest...

laser 5000 are cheap ( you can pick a decent up with spares for a grand) and are pretty much bullet proof. I also think there a much better design than the boss and break less, so in the long run there cheaper.

I was talking new, but i got a good deal on my contender. £500 for the boat, launching trolley, combi trailer, 2 sails (with covers), under cover and the top cover. Dry as a bone, but a little knocked about, a little!
