Apparently new moulds are being made up in New Zeland, with a tweaked hull, with boats to be built in Australia.

Claims it will be faster than the old one. Which will be nice.

They seem to be rare as hens teeth to get hold of right now (at least at a reasonable price). Boats and outboards just has 3 wanted ads :(

And compete with the ( biased opinion ) more refined Vareo which has the support of the RS Associations, and is actually still raced!

Well I've recently found one on the web and my uncle's given it to my cousin for his birthday so there's one boat down at leigh on sea and I can tell you that the boat looks every bit as slick as ever and is IMO the nicest boat to look at in the world.  I hope so much that there is truth in the rumours of a resurgance in the class.

Is there anybody out there that knows of anybody still involved with the Mx-Ray class in any shape or form? I Introduced my girlfriend into the sport earlier this year and now thats she is pretty keen on it i'dd like to get myself a little something on the side to play about with. Debating various boats but out of interest i typed Mx-Ray into goggle last week and found a american sight suggesting the there may be a re-emergence of the class this year? Anybody know if there is any truth in this talk? I can remember it being on test in Y&Y when it first appeared on the scene and it looked slick back then. I've had a chance to read all the chat about the positives and negatives of the boat from past forum topics however i would be genuinely interested to hear from anyone in the know able to shed some light on this subject. Suprised a hungry boatbuilder hasn't snapped it up to give it a facelift yet.
