Yeh .. Thats a bottom guess ...

In between trying to spear the bottom of the lake with the spinni pole and trying not to broach into a windsurfer ...

The temptation was very high though!

Anyone at Broadstairs feel like loaning me a GPS one day this weekend? I wanna see what speeds I really do!

27MPH!

Those are the kind of days I NEED a GPS on. But you guys doing 27mph makes my 18 mph guestimate sound quite reasonable, as at times I was almost keeping up with some of you!

Pity you all kept falling over in the way though, I had to wait about 3 or 4 mins after a capsise to drift clear of a pair ... one who stopped near my bow ( bad place in that much wind ) and one who almost fell on my mast!

Twas a right giggle though!

I was out on the solent in a J109 which was fairly entertaining, think the breeze was between 25 and 35 knots for most of the racing. Hit 15.5 knots with the kite and full main but then got 12.5 on the way back to the Hamble with a reefed main alone! There were some fairly spectacular broaches going on and a few kites that didn't survive too well either.

When out on the plymouth universitis J80 for there first sail by the yacht club, bloody hell the kites are big! Only about 15kts but I can see that they will go in a bit more wind.

Going racing next week end which should be interesting.

I had hoped to talk a bit more after sailing to see whether you guys are going to be sailing at Draycote again?

Was out on Saturday teaching in W London, was Ok, but a bit gusty with the SE winds.

Out again racing me Laser at the SC (on the coast), was cool, choppy but the wind was constant, as for the Rain, that just kept coming!

Oh well, looking ahead to the next time out.

Don't worry your not the only one who's boken their boom at alton!

Another guy snapped his fully carbon (phantom) boom clean in two a while back in the winter!! Don't quite now how he done it tho because there was no wind and he said he only pulled the kicker on hard ish (then again he is in the army so his hard is probably in a different league to ours!lol!).

I was down alton this weekend (as usual) and it looked like the vareo's were having a wail of a time . You guys were brave to go out on saterday, I went windsurfing on my small kit and easily hit the 27mph mark .
