Just a little more evidence - in the recent Charity pursuit race at Hayling the HISC corrected numbers had the RS500 and Fireballs starting together. Not sure how HISC 'corrects' numbers, but as they have some good Fireballs and RS crews it appears that on their water at least speed is comparable.

If we're talking Winder Fireballs, then 970 would sound about right
