Must say I do like the look of it .. Not sure I have the weight or a crew, but i'm gonna have to give it a try one day!

Oh, and I wasn't last, before you ask!

We had an excellent weekend - here's a pic of Villan with his Vareo

"Come to Plymouth" they said, "the sea breeze is fantastic" they said, "sailing outside the breakwater- worth the trip out" I was told.

Drift, drift, drift. Ah well, These things happen.

EMBARRASSING

Well, today was light breeze but being my first weekend playing with the
new boat, was determined to go out and practice.
The odd thing is when you've sailed pretty quick skiff-style boats for the
last few years, the concept of speed is slightly slanted.
In the belief that I could travel further and faster than realistically
possible, I end up getting ripped by the tide out to sea......WAY WAY OUT
TO SEA!

Yes, today I owe my life to the RNLI who rescued my ass!!!!!!

The Swanage boys who are always 'on call' at the swanage life boat
station came to my rescue and brought me back home. One of them who
came out is a good friend of mine who's taken full advantage to mock me
all day. However, I'm happy for him to mock me because I'd rather he
save my ass to be able to mock than any other possible scenario.

My first weekend out from swanage sailing club is the first weekend in
my life I've needed saving.

To all the people on call around the country as part of the RNLI
Thank You
Thank You
Thank you
Because I was sh*tting it and you came and brought me home. I'm
extremely grateful that you guys are there for us sailing folk.

These people that can sail when the rest of us are working

I sailed the 700 on Sunday, got to the club to find it was a long distance sail to Maldon and Back about 10 miles (S.A.L.T.Y where were you!)

Anyway was great going up river with the kite up, a few swims later, then upwind all the way back.

Still learning (2nd sail on the sea) and still loving the feeling of the kite up and out on the wire.

sailed a laser 4000 at datchet today... 30knts gusting lots more, lake to ourselves and waves appearing on a INLAND reservoir means you in for a good time!
downwind me and the crew could not see there was that much spray! and having the kite bear us away as it gets hit by a gust!

on a few of the downwind runs we got air!!! upwind was quick considering half the time we were flogging the main and crew flat wiring just to stay flat not forgetting having the racks out 2 pins more than we are meant to! capsized 3-4times within the 3hour odd sail
