There's a panther in our neck of the woods too (I live in Cheddar) - I've seen it on the road between Banwell and Winscombe.

The deer was not one of my hits either. I've hit 2 in the last couple of years (and several near misses) and they don't half do a lot of damage to the car (though obviously not half as much damage as the car does to the deer...). They used to call me the Deer Hunter at work!

no punchline, its an escaped animal from port lympne wild animal park.. i saw it a few years ago when i used to do a paper round early in the morning.

I reckon it was a lorry. The deer had squatted down to try and duck under the lorry, head had been removed by the grill... later down the road the lorry braked and the head became detached and fell into the road.

... obviously!
