MP expenses seems to be dominating the news at the moment, so...

If you were an MP, what sailing kit would you have claimed for and how would you have justifyed your expenses to the reporters hounding you once your claims were published in the Daily Telegraph?

... all of it, plus the kit for my wife and kids, and if I was really pushing it the mistress as well. As for justification; none needed, just say sorry and wait for it to all blow over.

What a bunch of complete t**sers they are; it's a utter disgrace; how we the public/tax payer allow this just to drift past is beyond me ... we don't have any real politicians left.

I'd be putting in a claim to get my moat dredged so I could go sailing when the Club was closed..............
Justification? The rules didn't say that I couldn't.... apparently

I'd claim for a whole lot of that rather expensive Zhik Kit.
My response to the papers:  It's terrible the way this is so easily open to abuse and I for one hope it changes.  Mwah ha ha ha ha!!

I'd obviously want the fastest boat possible so that I'd be away from my desk for the absolute minimum time, and the best possible kit so that I'd return in optimum state to work - or something.

With one or two exceptions (who are usually kept away from the hub of things because the ask too many awkward questions), they are indeed complete t**sers, which makes me wonder why people fear Europe so much. In my experience, the euro-t**sers are absolutely no worse than our own, and if it cuts down on layers of administration... (that's a big 'if', I agree).

I'd claim for buying 1,000 acres of land, and building a 650acre heated swimming pool in it that's 8ft deep and kept at a constant 28 degrees.

I would justify it on the basis that:-

1./ It would keep the construction industry gainfully employed

2./ It would stop a lot of swimming pool companies from gong bust, as MP's clearly can't afford to keep a pool without th help of the State

3./ It would be creating an important local water reserve (already chlorinated)

4./ It would be a great place to drown MPs that abused their positions

5./ It could povide value for the taxpayer by installing wave machines (we'd tell them that these are the ones that generate electricity, but in reality we'd just put in the ones that make waves, so that it'd be like sailing in the sea off Brisbane).

Don't forget to add the 10m tall craft workshop with the mast height doors where local artisans can practise their traditional ethnic boat preparation techniques.

10m is not high enough.

I'd need room for my fully rigged Vx40 and DogMonster.

Wanna learn to Ski - PM me..
