Went for a practice at my potential new club this weekend, great first race (round the cans) i came second, then the other 2 races were W/L, which doesnt really suit the 300 when everything else seems to have a kite.  Nice F4, fantastic piece of water.  Monday, back to Tewkesbury for RNLI race, shocker, flukey wind, tight water, Rubbish!

Er yes

I didn't say we didn't finish, we just didn't win, we capsized for the first
time in six months, some of my 'modifications' might have slashed my
crews wrists and some of the things that came back undone after the
repair and refit manifested themselves in the stronger wind, like the plate
taking on a mind of its own and raising itself down the reaches proving to
me like boards, boats plane faster without them they're just a little
trickier to deal with at the bottom mark in a gust trying to put back down
again.

Other than that it was still extremely good fun..

Proving the age old adge no doubt that RIBs have only 1 speed setting.

After four months off the water modifying my hull, I was very happy to be out this weekend! Early signs were very encouraging, it foiled much more easily, maintained a constant height, didn't feel like it was going to crash and I didn't have to move my bodyweight half as much as I used to. Unfortunately the sail was cut short by a fitting pulling out but I was more than happy that everything else worked!

I have been hearing all about your mods from a mutual friend. Glad they all worked well aside from the fitting pulling out.

sailed a laser 4000 at datchet today... 30knts gusting lots more, lake to ourselves and waves appearing on a INLAND reservoir means you in for a good time!
downwind me and the crew could not see there was that much spray! and having the kite bear us away as it gets hit by a gust!

on a few of the downwind runs we got air!!! upwind was quick considering half the time we were flogging the main and crew flat wiring just to stay flat not forgetting having the racks out 2 pins more than we are meant to! capsized 3-4times within the 3hour odd sail
