Beaten by our old boat this weekend, tried out the new mainsail with the
knaff battens started off well enough, battled and hung onto the five oh,
then we got gusted, flipped and nothing was quite the same after that.

Gusty offshore 3-4 which became a 5, some creaming reaches and some
aweful holes really enjoyable until we stacked it, after which we lost
Cunningham and the Gnav developed a mind of its own and the plate
wouldn't stay down.

Then our old 500 passed us how bad is that?

Haven't figured out all that went wrong yet some of my mods might not
have been as effective in strong wind as they are in the lighter airs we've
been dogged with this year to date.

And I've told that crew not to bleed all over the boat...

I shall see you then and will come and take a look at your little beauty of a boat then. It did look good (but that was from a distance).

Yes,  I think so.  I have to modify the rig first - I wouldn't want it to collapse on anyone!  I will be there in the afternoon, once I have done my sailability stint at Grafham.
the same, but different...

I did indeed. It did look very Moth like in the absence of any other Moths!

The only problem was I didn't get much chance to look because I was too busy trying to keep the rest of the Laser fleet behind me. Will you have it out again on the friends and family day?

Was down at Stone SC for the 505 event there

Wind was nothing like forecast - it was much better.  20 to 25 on Saturday and then built all day Sunday from 10 to 20

Awesome sailing, some good racing and smiles all around when back on shore

God I hurt this morning - my bruises have bruises and my hands have lumps missing from a 'controlled' spinnaker dump

When you find a big kettle of crazy it's probably best not to stir it - Pointy Haired Boss

Crew on 505 8780
