Looks to me like there is something that has failed just above the top of the jib - There is a faint horizontal stripe on the picture

that mast is a gonner... when going downwind, its important to keep the main in, as the leech stops the top section snapping off (we narrowly avoided it a few weeks ago) thse guys are obviously pretty quick, so it must be quite breezy, or the caps have failed!

That looks like one of the skiff DVDs that had a boat with a carbon top section, it just bent rather a lot...
