Yep, totally concur, have something I guess similar myself cant remember
what it's called.(slight whitening around the periphery of the cornea) will
continually expand caused by excess UV over 40 years of watersports.
Gave up contacts as a result, have used reactor prescriptions ever since
diagnosis.

Sorry to hear your news peaky. Can I ask how long you were wearing lenses for and what sort. I never wear sunnies cos they end up covered in spray but my Acuvue lenses have a UV filter so I have been assuming that this was protecting me. But I guess the lens just covers the iris and pupil rather than the conjunctiva so maybe I should reconsider.

Does anyone recommend those 'reactor' lenses that switch between dark/light? Whenever I wear my prescription sunglasses I find there is a time when the clouds cover the sun and then it all goes very dark for me!

Choose a style of frame that allows you to connect a lanyard easily! After paying for prescription glasses you dont want to have them fall off and sink.

As I don't need prescription sunglasses I have the Oakley Minute Polarised sunnies. They aren't cheap but I managed to get some from a Cycle store less than the rrp. I chose the polarised as it is better for the glare etc you get form the water/sun.

Oakley do prescription sunglasses just do a google search.
