yer but with windsurfing you can sail in higherwinds cos you can downsize your size sail to something not much bigger than an opie size sail.

At 10:10 this morning the anenometer recorded 49mph! And it's usually a bit sheltered !

This was what greeted us!

Needless to say no boats were allowed out!

The windsurfers enjoyed themselves though! Well all four that dared to go out!

went out in the 49er yesterday in the plymouth sound. morning was perfect, about 18-20knots, we had a awesome kite leg, but very overpowered upwind. we went in for lunch then as we came back out, it picked up to about 25-30knots, we went upwind for a few hundred yards, and were flying, but cudnt bear-away coz of the power!!. in the end we dropped the main and taxied in, was still shifting on the jib alone....

Racing cancelled,

only myself and 1 other 4.7 sailor went out and had a real blast.

We couldn't beat, but we sure as hell had fun downwind!!!

Yeh, It did look good out there!

We had a 39 mph gust at one point ... and Wayfarers ( with 2 reefs ) planing!!

The fastest boat we had out today - Also the one that capsised fewest - Only 6 or 7 times!

Mwahaha. Had to post this!
