sailing cancelled here too, we saw the warsash spring series boats come out then motor back home or sail back with like 3 reefs or just a tiny jib. not many waves cos it was NE but we invented a new sport, you get yourself an appropriate size kite (1.5sqm today) find a big empty field, and a pair of rolloer blades. ill leave the rest to your imagination.
600 732, will call it Sticks and Stones when i get round to it.
Also International 14, 1318

cancelled? cancelled? pah... yesterday there was a fleet of about 20 boats out and only about 5 capsizes. I was in a topper, just blasting backwards and forwards, hanging on for dear life at times, but I didn't get wet! other than from spray...

Chew valley was really windy today, morning race about 10 boats went out and we were only one of 2 boats that finished due to the other boats either broke bits or were s ing them selves

Afternoon race we went out again but we had to retire because they shut the lake because of the wind

Got to BSC at 0930

Had bacon buttie and drank coffee

Had a chat with helm and had a bacon buttie and drank more coffee

Got the anemometer out at 1030 and recorded average background of 25kts with 32kt sustained gusts (wind due to peak at 1200)

Went to mother in laws and helped she who must to cook lunch.

Dry and sensible sailing - sometimes you know it makes sense

There's been plenty of sailing where I was, but the boats were seriously buffeted.

At one point, one of the competitors couldn't leave the lake bank and he had to be rescued with all the high-tech equipement available at the time.

I was only cycling in the area and, despite a terrible weather forecast, we had plenty of sunshine

Yeh, It did look good out there!

We had a 39 mph gust at one point ... and Wayfarers ( with 2 reefs ) planing!!

The fastest boat we had out today - Also the one that capsised fewest - Only 6 or 7 times!

Mwahaha. Had to post this!
