I have just gone harken carbo route for the new ratchet block, with black maffolli mainsheet and red excel fusion for the strops. I need to replace the other mainsheet blocks but by that point i had already spent enough for the wife to notice!!

Right. My first entry here.
My boat is mainly harken with a few holt and ronstan Mainsheet is continuous and 4mm dyneema spliced into 6mm maffioli on the back of the main and jib sheet. Vang systems are spliced 4mm dyneema Cunningham is continuous 4mm dyneema Forestay is 6mm spliced Vectran. Also Spinnaker take up is a little pimp i donned. Pictures here. |

BBSCFaithful,
Your taper on the jib sheet looks like it might get caught in the block, as its too steep a taper. Before you thread the outer back into the core you need to gradually thin out the strands a bit so that you get a gradual increase in diameter rather than the step you appear to have. Is this really pimping or merely bimbling !!!! |
