I could! I'd happily whack a toebar on any car. Just for the comical value of
taking something considered so precious like a ferrari and then slamming it into the real world of 'it's just a car' by whacking a toebar on it.
No matter what the price tag, an engine attached to wheels is always an engine attached to wheels. I await the car enthusiast onslaught of abuse. |

It's ok, I think I'm likely to be entirely on my own with that one.
Luckily for me my friends who have very pimped japanese import cars aren't on this forum and aren't likely to ever be otherwise I'd be in some real trouble. Edited by Doug.H |

No No No! I didn't do it.... If it was mine, I would take that ugly lump of attatched metal off, throw it away..... and just keep the towbar |

No you're not. I too, see a car in an entirely utilitarian manner. I don't need an overpriced, unreliable, rust prone, jumped up Fiat, substitute for something else. However the towbar could be useful. I doubt many 'super cars' would be suitable for towing anything much. I do recall a conversation with a work colleague who went caravanning.....He didn't rate many of the 4 x 4's that people were towing with saying that the gearing, torque power bands etc. etc. were all wrong. He actually used a Ford transit (after all the travelling community can't be that wrong), although he did mention the frightful looks he'd get when turning up at caravan club sites |

If you want to tow properly ..
HGV Licence (Provisional in post!) and a Volvo FH16 700 Pros: 700HP and 16Litre engine Cons: You would be lucky to get 12 MPG I'm sure you'd have no problem getting to the Tiger if you had one of those a few weeks back!! Edited by Villan |

Andy Mac.
You're friend im afraid was talking out of his behind! Most 4x4s have more torque and better gearing and better placed powerbands than any van ive ever driven! Typical defender etc would be more than a match for a caravan etc. If the power was wrong due to gearing etc then my grandads landy wouldn't of been able to tow a 2.5 tonne digger around for years. Given many people use vans for towing due to luggage capacity etc but given the choice between a 110 and a van i think id have the landy! |
